Where the Water Goes Decides How We Dig

Iberia drains north through Rabbithead Creek into Tavern Creek, sits at about 938 feet, and averages roughly 43 inches of precipitation and 7.6 inches of snow a year. Every one of our Iberia jobs starts with the same question: when it rains, where does this water end up?

On a build site, the answer shapes the work in three places:

  • Pad elevation and slope. A pad has to shed water away from the foundation, not collect it.
  • Driveway crown and culverts. A drive that crosses a low spot needs a culvert, and the ground around it needs a clear path out.
  • Timing. Soft ground after a wet stretch is a bad time to move heavy loads, which is why we plan excavation around the spring thaw and wet season instead of fighting it.

What We Dig, Grade, and Clear Around Iberia

Building Pads for Shops, Garages, and Homes

Our building pad excavation shapes, levels, and compacts the site so the structure sits on solid ground.

  • Pads for houses, garages, shops, and sheds
  • Cut, fill, and compaction matched to the soil
  • A final check of dimensions, elevation, and slope away from the foundation

Pricing a pad? It helps to know what drives the cost of building pad excavation in Central Missouri before you call.

Driveways and Culverts

A long drive carries more weight and more runoff than a short one. We clear and grade the route, excavate the driveway down to stable subgrade, and set it up to shed water.

  • Topsoil and soft material removed before any base goes down
  • Crown and cross-slope graded for drainage
  • Culverts installed, replaced, or repaired where water has to cross

Land Clearing and Brush Hogging

Overgrown ground is not one job. Trees and stumps that have to come out are land clearing. Fields, fence lines, and pastures that just need cutting back are brush hogging. We explain how land clearing and brush hogging differ when you call, so you pay for the one your property actually needs.

  • Trees, stumps, and roots removed from building sites
  • Brush hogging for pastures, fence lines, and overgrown lots
  • Grading after clearing when the ground needs leveling

Grading, Site Prep, and Basements

Once the ground is open, site preparation and grading set it up for the next trade. We also excavate basements for new builds.

Hauling Gravel and Dirt

We truck gravel or dirt to the job so the material arrives when the crew needs it.

Pair the Dirt Work With Concrete

When the excavation is done, the same company can pour. Our concrete services cover footings, basement floors, driveways, and sidewalks, and the footings and foundation work goes in on the pad we just prepared. One crew means one schedule and no hand-off between contractors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Contact Us

  • How much does excavation cost in Iberia, MO?

It depends on the size of the area, the condition of the ground, and what has to be cleared, graded, or hauled. We give you a price based on the details of your project.

  • What is the difference between land clearing and brush hogging?

Land clearing removes trees, stumps, and roots so the ground can be built on. Brush hogging cuts growth at the surface and leaves the roots in place. Building sites usually need clearing, and pastures and fence lines usually need brush hogging.

  • Do I need a culvert in my driveway?

If the drive crosses a low spot or a drainage channel, yes, because the water needs somewhere to go. We install, replace, and repair culverts and grade the ground around them so runoff has a clear path.

  • When is the best time to excavate in Missouri?

When the ground is firm. Wet stretches and the spring thaw soften the soil and slow the work, so we schedule around them where we can.

  • Can you pour concrete after the excavation is done?

Yes. We handle footings, basement floors, driveways, and sidewalks, so the same crew that prepared the ground can pour on it.
